About the Role

To take responsibility for the effective day to day financial operations of the Trust, maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely reports. The role works under the oversight of the Joint Chief Executive (Operations) and provides essential financial information that supports organisational planning and performance.

Key Responsibilities

·         Manage all sales and purchase ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance

·         Reconcile bank receipts and statements, and maintain accurate financial records

·         Oversee credit control and respond to finance-related queries

·         Prepare monthly management accounts, monitoring expenditure against budget and reporting variances to the Joint Chief Executive (Operations).

·         Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision making

·         Monitor and forecast cashflow, producing regular cash flow statements

·         Prepare year end accounts and support the audit process

·         Support the preparation of annual budgets

·         Produce ad hoc financial reports for management and the Board when requested

·         Implement and improve internal financial procedures and controls

·         Provide occasional reception and administrative support as needed

Person Specification

Essential:

·         AAT Level 4 qualified, working towards Level 4, or QBE

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in a finance or bookkeeping role

·         Strong understanding of accounting principles

·         Proficient in accounting software (Xero or similar) and advanced Excel skills

·         Analytical, accurate, and able to interpret financial data

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Able to prioritise workloads, work independently, and manage multiple tasks

 Desirable:

·         Experience working within a social enterprise or charitable organisation

·         Understanding of direct debit collection processes

·         Experience supporting process improvement or systems implementation
